PROTECTION, RESEARCH, CARE & AWARENESS

Federal Monuments Authority Austria

The Federal Monuments Authority Austria explores, protects and maintains Austria’s material cultural heritage and communicates the significance of this task. The Federal Monuments Authority Austria enforces the Monument Protection Act in order to explore, protect and maintain Austria’s cultural heritage. We all bear responsibility for the preservation of our monuments. The Federal Monuments Authority Austria sees itself not only as a professional specialist authority but also as a service centre which passes on the know-how acquired in the fields of monument conservation, monument research and restoration technology and opens up knowledge about our monuments and develops scientific foundations for its activities. A good exchange with all partners, such as owners, the federal states and municipalities, interest groups, civil society, performers in the fields of architecture, crafts, restoration etc. and scientific institutions at home and abroad secures our cultural heritage for the future.
