CIPA Summer School 2025

We are excited to announce that the CIPA Summer School 2025 is currently underway! This year, we are proud to collaborate with CIPA Heritage Documentation—a joint committee of ICOMOS and ISPRS—to host this renowned international training program in Heiligenkreuz-Gutenbrunn Castle, Austria.

From May 20 to May 25, the castle has come alive with the energy and curiosity of 30 international participants and students from across Europe and beyond. Together with leading experts in the field, they are diving deep into the digitisation of built heritage at risk, exploring the latest tools and methods for documenting and preserving cultural heritage using advanced digital technologies.

With its rich baroque architecture and current lack of a dedicated use, Heiligenkreuz Castle provides a perfect case study for hands-on fieldwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants are working on-site with high-resolution 3D datasets, testing methods in photogrammetry, laser scanning, and data integration while engaging in lively discussion and exchange.

The Summer School is part of the EU-funded project “3DBigDataSpace”, supported by the Time Machine Organisation, and it offers a unique platform to explore how digital heritage can address real-world conservation challenges.
