CHNT29 Short Films

As we prepare to celebrate CHNT30 this November, we are pleased to look back at one of last year’s highlights — the short films created by students from TU Wien’s Research Unit of Building History and Building Archaeology during CHNT29.

Within the framework of an ongoing cooperation between CHNT-ICOMOS Austria and TU Wien (Research Unit of Building History and Building Archaeology), established in 2021, students once again combined learning and practice by engaging directly with the conference. Their aim was to explore current methods and technologies in cultural heritage documentation, discuss these with international experts, and develop short film portraits capturing the atmosphere and people behind CHNT.

Under the supervision of Ulrike Herbig and Sebastian Schmidl, the students produced an inspiring collection of short films that reflect the diversity, creativity, and energy of CHNT.

These films not only document CHNT29 — they also offer a glimpse of what makes this conference unique: the meeting of disciplines, ideas, and generations.

Enjoy the films and stay tuned as we get ready for CHNT30 – Cultural Heritage and New Technologies, taking place in Vienna from 3–5 November 2025!
