Digital humanities and Legacy data studies: current issues and perspectives

The main aim of this round table is to address the issue represented by legacy data in the context of humanities studies and how digital humanities could represent an opportunity to fully integrate these data. Bringing together and sharing different experiences in which this approach has been adopted could create the right context to address and define strategies to overcome issues and methodological challenges in specific fields of humanities studies. The participants will present their study cases in which the nature of the legacy data studied, and their issues will be presented and why and how a solid methodological framework that deploys digital humanities could be essential to allow their study and to integrate them with other data of heterogeneous nature. The presentations cover different case studies related to archaeology and literature. Each contribution explains how new technologies allowed to tackle specific issues that prevented a full integration of legacy data.
