Final Version of CHNT 26 Proceedings published

After the preview volume of the proceedings of CHNT 26 (2021) has had been published a while ago on our homepage, now the final volume has also been finished and published at Propylaeum eBooks under its doi 10.11588/propylaeum.1449. The volume has the title The World’s Heritage in the Digital Age. New Technologies Towards Sustainable Research, Conservation and Communication and features more than 40 original contributions to the 2021 conference.

As always, the CHNT Proceedings are published as diamond open access journal, meaning they are available to everyone. There are no fees involved, neither for the author nor for the readers. The proceedings contain two types of papers: There are so-called short papers, which present the content of a conference talk or poster in short and are reviewed by the editors. The bulk of the papers in the volume are long papers. These are peer-reviewed elaborations on the research behind a conference presentation. The CHNT Proceedings follow a single-blind peer-review policy (since it is a conference, the authors are publicly known beforehand). They usually are reviewed by two experts, drawn from the pool of our scientific board, the session chairs and external reviewers.

The publishing of the conference proceedings as “diamond open access” and ensuring high scholarly standards remains a challenging task. Even more so, as all work on the proceedings – reviewing,, editing, proofreading, layout, technical infrastructure – is volunteer work. We and the whole community are very grateful to everybody who contributed to this volume as author or reviewer. We all owe our special thanks to those who consistently committed many hours of their spare time in volunteer work as editors and copy-editors for the volume.

Our small team of volunteers is unremittingly working, to deliver the next volumes of the CHNT proceedings to the community. The next volume will exhibit a little bit refreshed layout and its preview will start to appear later in spring on the proceedings homepage.

Our small team of volunteers is working tirelessly to deliver the next volumes of the CHNT Proceedings to the community. The next volume will feature a slightly updated layout. Almost all the reviews, revisions and copyediting of the CHNT 27 Proceedings are finished now. The previews of the finished papers will be available on the proceedings homepage later in spring.
