Daniel Stiller

I graduated in 2004 from the Free University Amsterdam, Specialisation: Early Roman period. Since then, I have worked in various jobs in Dutch archaeology. From my specialisation in the Roman period, I have drifted into the (late) Medieval en post-medieval period with a specialization in Pottery of this period.
After finishing my education, I worked for commercial archaeological compagnies. The work mostly consisted of prospecting, excavations and specialist research (pottery). Since 2010’s I slowly shifted to policy-making positions for regional organisations (called in Dutch Omgevingsdienst) that work (directly or in an advisory-role) for cities and smaller municipalities. That consists of advising on development-permits, checking and partly managing (on behalf of the local government) ongoing archaeological digs and the accompanying reports.
Besides the above (and the organising committee of CHNT of course) I am part of the Guidance-committee of Kwaliteitsnorm Nederlandse Archeologie 5.0 (Quality Standard Dutch Archaeology version 5.0).

CHNT Connection:

Willem Beex introduced me to CHNT. At my first attendance in 2015 he chaired a session that was relevant for my work concerning mobile Apps and the next year I presented a small lecture because of that. I see subjects and things here at CHNT presented, appearing a couple of years later in daily practice.
I hope to join the organising committee to help with the organisation the conference.
